Indelible.
I’ve finally finished my “first chapter in the story of our lives.” LOL *inside joke. High school has been a ride – an incredible one at that. Despite all the downsides during those four years, I’ve had some pretty amazing memories and indelible moments that I’ll never forget. “I loved high school.” I can honestly say that without any fragment of sarcasm. I haven’t blogged in about four weeks and I guess it’s because signing yearbooks, living my last days of high school, Baccalaureate, GRADUATION, class of 2009, another summer gym pass, picking up more hours at work, enjoying summer while it lasts, and savoring every bit of “carefree childhood” before I head off to California State University, Long Beach as an official adult, has been keeping me as occupied as ever. I haven’t ceased to capture most of my life with photographs and even videos. Thanks to Carla Gonzalez (most of the pictures are hers!), Robert Blantz and Mommie Ly for the videos, Tina Ly for graduation and Baccalaureate photos, and of course, me. Thank you guys for being there to support me throughout it all, it means so much. ♥
I have, and always will be, appreciative of my mom, Helen Kim Ly. I’ve been spending a lot of time with her and she really is my best friend and guardian. She is the only person in the world that I can have total faith and trust in and I owe her my life. It’s so hard to have faith in friends. Everyone always says I care too much and I never believe it until I finally realize that it’s true. Am I supposed to live life heartless so I can save myself from heartache? I try to tell myself that I’m strong and I can care less if people walk in and out of my life. But honestly, it hurts more than the last and I can’t stand it. I overestimate my will and strength to let people go. Why would God introduce all these people into my life that I fall into great appreciation for, only to have them walk right out as easy as they’ve walked in? “You don’t know the greatest things in life until you’ve experienced the worst.”
It’s not denial, but I can truthfully say that I am happy. I’m content with the way things turn out for me, always. I’ve been accepted to my dream school, I passed my last semester of high school with an un-weighted 4.0, I’ve just gotten my third raise at a job with coworkers that surprisingly love me, I have a wonderful home, an incredible parental unit, as little as I have - but thankfully – family, and as little as I thought I did, I have friends that I can hit up – which is also nice. I guess one thing I wish I did have at this moment, is my faith in God, getting more into the word, going to church, reading my bible, etc. My family is Buddhist, and my friends are Catholic. People would argue that I’m not doing enough or trying my best to make those things happen. I’m human, I guess I can’t do everything right and I definitely am far from perfect.
